Pointillism: Aboriginal Rain Sticks


 







A percussion instrument made from a dried cactus branch that is hollowed out, filled with small objects, and closed at both ends. When slightly tilted, it makes the sound of falling rain.


    STEPS TO MAKING An Aboriginal RAINSTICK
  1. Complete rainstick boomerang worksheet sketches. Upload to Artsonia. 
  2. Once you have completed your sketch fill your rainstick with drawings in pencil.
  3. Fill and glue top and bottom on rain stick. 
  4. Paint with tempera paint dots.
  5. Shellac and take home
